The company said the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction. Measurement Approach Updates Earlier, the sizing featured a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10. The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10. With some products, the measurements have been reclassified - for example a size L used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Shopper Accounts One content creator, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted featuring size 14 markings were appearing on the platform as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she said. Necessary Adjustments Another shopper, based in Derby, said she had been left angered by the change as she had to manually change the sizing for "all her products". "This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million members, comprising 18 million UK members. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the service retracted a modification regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
